Guilmon (Gillmon/Girumon in the Japanese version) was created by Takato and came to life in the Real World. He is a playful Digimon who just loves bread. Guilmon’s first battle was with Renamon; even though he tried to fight back with his Pyro Sphere Renamon was still putting up a better fight. Renamon and Guilmon soon become somewhat friends near the end. Takato soon finds Guilmon a secret hiding place since Guilmon can’t go with him to school or home—he’s too big! Guilmon has a great nose and can sense a rat a mile away. Guilmon was the one who found the port to the Digital World. He was sad when they lost all the bread getting into the Digital World. XD Because of Takato, Guilmon Digivolved into Megidramon, who was a Mega Virus dragon Digimon full of the negative feelings Takato had, but soon Guilmon comes back once Takato realizes how much he loves his partner. Takato and Guilmon BioMerge—Matrix Evolve in Japanese—into Gallantmon—Dukemon in the Japanese version. Later on they also BioMerge into Gallantmon Crimson Mode, or Dukemon Crimson Mode in the Japanese version.

Terriermon is the one who speaks his mind and seems to be rude at times, and is either oblivious to his rudeness or just doesn’t care. Henry is always trying to keep Terriermon under control and tries to prevent him from Digivolving because he’s afraid he’ll get hurt. Terriermon is very close to his partner Henry, helping him understand more about life. Terriermon often gets played by Henry’s little sister Susie because she thinks he’s a doll, although he really doesn’t like being dressed up as “Miss Pretty Pants. Though Terriermon does talk too much and seems rather noisy, he does seem very carefree. In fact, he likes saying the Cantonese phrase “mou men tai” frequently, which translates to “take it easy” or “not a problem.” Henry and him BioMerge to MegaGalgomon.

Renamon is a strong Digimon, just like her partner Rika. She’s a great fighter and is very serious. She takes orders from Rika a lot. Renamon won’t Digivolve until she actually knows that Rika cares about her. Renamon is probably the only one who understands Rika, which makes them so great for each other. They do get into some fights but nothing they can’t work out. Renamon is a Digimon of few words. Rika and Renamon BioMerge—Matrix Evolve in Japanese—into Sakuyamon to save the others from the D-Reaper. Renamon in the Digital World feels the need to save Impmon so she and Rika go after him.

Calumon (Kurumon in the Japanese version) is a very carefree Digimon who just wants to play and have fun. He loves to eat cream-puffs and to make people happy. He somehow fell into the Real World. Calumon doesn’t have a human partner even though Henry and Takato tried to find him one. Calumon was kidnapped by Makuramon to be taken back to the Digital World. The Tamers try to find Calumon to get him back. Calumon is the Catalyst and holds the light to all Digivolution with the jewel on his forehead, and was turned into a Digimon to hide from the D-Reaper. Calumon decides to stay a Digimon in the end. He goes back to the Digital World with the other Tamers. He seemed to be the closest to Jeri, staying with her when she was in the D-Reaper.

Impmon first shows up trying to convince Renamon that humans are against Digimon and just use them for slaves. Impmon is the bad Digimon who always tries to start fights. He will fight until the very end even if he's the one about to die. Impmon goes too the Digital World and makes a deal with one of the Deva’s, which was that he would destroy the Tamers and their Digimon if he could be stronger. Impmon Digivolved into a Mega form, Beelzemon. As Beelzemon, he soon kills Leomon, but starts to regret it after everyone, especially Jeri, is so sad about it. He soon De-Digivolves back into Impmon. Right before the others go home Rika and Renamon save him to take him back to the Real World with them. Impmon had two human partners, Ai and Mako. He ran away from them because they used to fight a lot—they were only about five, after all—and he got the idea that all humans were selfish beings. He soon gets in contacted with them again when the D-Reaper attacks. In the English dub, Derek Stephen Prince voices him in the style of Joe Pesci (known for being in the Home Alone movies, three Lethal Weapon movies, and in Goodfellas).

Leomon first shows up on a rainbow that was probably a port from the Digital World. Soon Jeri thinks that Leomon is her partner and starts chasing him all over the park. Calumon helps, thinking it’s just a game. Soon Leomon captures him once Calumon is about to yell where he's at. Takato catches him and thinks he’s a bad Digimon. They were about to fight until Jeri shows up. Leomon is still clueless on what’s going on, then when Jeri says that he’s her partner Leomon soon disappears. The next day or so Leomon tries to protect the Tamers from Makuramon, an evil Deva Digimon that looks like a monkey. Makuramon used an attack to stop him. Leomon was soon really hurt, Jeri was really worried about him, and then a Digivice appeared before her to save him, making them officially partners. Leomon is a very wise Digimon and has a lion’s heart—after all, he is a lion. Sadly, Impmon as the evil Beelzemon killed Leomon and it took Jeri forever to get over the loss of her partner. What’s with Digimon and killing off the Leomon’s and Wizardmon’s?

Lopmon was first Antylamon. Antylamon was protecting the southern gate for the Soverigns. Susie soon fell into that section of the Digital World accidentally. She met up with Antylamon and they both had so much fun together in the so little time. Makuramon soon shows up and attacks Susie. Antylamon soon lost her power and de-Digivolves into Lopmon. She was partnered with Susie when she got a Digivice. Lopmon is one of the twelve Deva Digimon, a very wise, calm mellow one at that. In the Japanese version she’s actually “genderless” and spoke in an antiquated dialect similar to how words are spoken/written in the Bible and Shakespeare (you know, that thee/thou/thy stuff?).

Cyberdramon is an untamed beast, believing his only purpose is to battle and fight. He can hardly be controlled, though occasionally is partner Ryo can tame him a bit. All Cyberdramon does is look for his true enemy to fight and destroy. Fighting is all he knows because it runs in his blood. There are theories saying that Cyberdramon is probably so restless because he’s the same Cyberdramon from the video game Brave Tamer. Ryo’s in the video game and in it the evil Digimon’s Monodramon and Millenniummon DNA Digivolve together, turning into a Digiegg that would become Cyberdramon. However, when there are no battles to be fought Cyberdramon and Ryo seem to get along just fine. The two BioMerge into Justimon and make a pretty sweet team.

MarineAngemon is a Digimon of very few words—in fact, in the Japanese version all his words are made up of “gibberish,” the only sounds used to form words being pa, pi, pu, pe, and po. The DigiGnomes snuck him into Kenta’s pocket when they were about to leave the Digital world. Kenta soon discovers him and a Digivice, making MarineAngemon Kenta’s partner. MarineAngemon doesn’t really like to fight but we do see him fight with his Kahuna Waves to destroy evil. Despite the size and cuteness, MarineAngemon is actually a Mega, making Kenta proud. ^^ They’re both very happy together.

Guardromon was first Andromon trying to stand up for the Gekomon to defeat an Ultimate level Digimon, Orochimon, who was making the Gekomon slaves. Andromon soon gets hurt really badly when he battles Orochimon and Kazu gets super worried. Andromon soon de-Digivolves into Guardromon and Kazu gets a Digivice, making them partners. Guardromon is a nut case just like Kazu. In some way’s worse. XD
