US:And So It Begins / Aired 08.14.1991
Seven kids (Namely Tai, Sora, Matt, Izzy, Mimi, TK and Joe) were at a summer camp when they received a strange device called the digivice and got transported to the Digital World. In the Digital World, Tai met his partner Digimon Koromon while Izzy’s partner Digimon Motimon (Sora’s partner Digimon is Yokomon, Matt’s is Tsunomon, Mimi’s is Tanemon, TK’s is Tokomon and Joe’s is Pukamon). Tai and Izzy walked around and Tai decided to climb up a tree to get a better view of things. Then, an angry Kuwagamon starts to attack Tai while he was looking out. Koromon attacked with Bubble Blow but it was no use. Kuwagamon continued attacking and was gone. Then the Digidestined met up and they began introducing themselves. Just when it seem safe, Kuwagamon attacks again. They tried running away but soon find themselves forced to the edge of a cliff. All of the Digidestined’s Digimon attacked Kuwagamon to protect their partner but it didn’t do Kuwagamon much damage. The situation seem hopeless until the In-Training Digimon digivolves to their rookie stage (Koromon digivolves to Agumon, Tsunomon digivolves to Gabumon, Yokomon digivolves to Biyomon, Motimon digivolves to Tentomon, Tanemon digivolves to Palmon, Pukamon digivolves to Gomamon and Tokomon digivolves to Patamon). The Digimon then proceed to defeat Kuwagamon with their attacks but Kuwagamon wasn’t really defeated. Instead he attacks causing the ground to give way and the episode ends with the Digidestined falling off the cliff and into the river below.

Before the Digidestined were about to fall into the river, Gomamon managed to use Marching Fishes to make a bed of fishes for the kids to land on. They make it safely to land and debated on whether to explore or simply go back to where they originally came from. But Tai decided to explore and they continued walking until they found themselves at the beach with arrow of phone booths. They tried to use the phone booths but none seem to work. All of them gave up and decided to rest but not Joe, he still continued calling even though it doesn’t work. The Digidestined shows each other what they brought along for the summer camp and share any food that they brought. But Tai and Agumon ate the day’s ration with the group’s approval. Then suddenly an evil Digimon Shellmon appears out from the land. The Digimon tried to fend off Shellmon but they were too weak to battle due to the fact that they haven’t eaten, Tai and Agumon were the only ones able to fight (partly because they ate the day’s ration). Tai decides to grab a pole and tries to distract Shellmon while Agumon attacks using Pepper Breath. Somehow Shellmon gets a hold on Tai and he was in grave danger, so Agumon digivolves to Greymon and saves the day by blasting Shellmon away using Nova Blast. After making sure the Digimon have eaten, the Digidestined continued with their journey.

Tai pondered about how Agumon was able to digivolve to Greymon as he recalls the fighting scenes. But the Digidestined were interrupted by two Monochromon who was fighting over territory, which both the Monochromon ended falling over a cliff. The Digidestined continued to walk and decided to rest by the side of a lake for the day. Everyone went to gather food and firewood to use for dinner. After eating, the Digidestined had a brief talk. Tai made fun of Gabumon’s fur much to the annoyance of Matt and they had a small fight. But it was nothing too serious and the Digidestined went to sleep inside a bus that they found beside the lake, after deciding Tai would be the first on guard duty to while the rest sleeps. Matt couldn’t sleep and decided to play his harmonica instead. Tai and Agumon were by the fireside and Tai decided to add more wood to the fire, but one of the woods flew off and landed on what happens to be Seadramon’s tail. Seadramon gets angry and attacks, with the rest of the Digidestined trapped inside the bus. Matt jumps into the river and swims towards the group while Seadramon drags the island to the center of the lake and the Digimon starts to attack Seadramon. TK accidentally falls into the river and was saved by Gomamon, Matt swims to them and ask Gomamon to take TK to safety. However Matt was caught by Seadramon and the situation looks grave. Gabumon digivolved to Garurumon to save his partner and he managed to defeat Seadramon after some battling. Gomamon then used Marching Fishes to bring the Digidestined back to the side of the lake. Tai, Izzy and Sora thinks about how the Digimon managed to digivolve to their champion stage as the rest of the group went to sleep again after that intense battle just now. The episode ends with Matt playing his harmonica.

The Digidestined wondered around, thinking about where they go next. Sora thinks that Biyomon was too optimistic about things and she accidentally said that she might be gone on day. This gets Biyomon curious and wants to know more, but Sora wasn’t too happy about it. They then walked continued walking and Mimi discovered a compass in her bag as the Digidestined gathered around her to see which direction they are going in. But the compass didn’t work due to the interference from the sand around them, which happens to be some metal powder. They ended up in a Yokomon Village as the Yokomon asked them about who they were. As Biyomon was answering Yokomon’s questions, Sora begins to wonder about her and Biyomon and whether Biyomon will digivolve to save her if she is in danger. But she blushes the thought aside. Meanwhile a Black Gear went into the mountains and goes straight into Meramon’s body, causing him to go havoc as he rushes down the mountain, burning everything with the flames from his body. The Digidestined and the Yokomon decided to take refuge in the abandoned ship, which is down the empty lake close to Yokomon Village. Sora gets worried about Biyomon as she didn’t see her anywhere and went to look for Biyomon. Biyomon gets attacked by Meramon and falls down the mountain, but Sora manages to get hold of Biyomon. A battle ensured and the Digidestined were losing, so Biyomon decides to digivolve to Birdramon to protect Sora and the others. Birdramon attacked using Meteor Wings and managed to destroy the Black Gear inside Meramon’s body, Meramon then returns to normal. The Digidestined later went to eat in the Yokomon village and the Yokomon have promised them.

After leaving Yokomon Village and going through the desert, the Digidestined ended up at a factory. They decided to explore the factory wanting to know more about what it manufactures and whether if there’s anyone in the factory. They split up into two groups with Tai, Sora and Joe in one group and Matt, TK, Mimi and Izzy in another. Matt and the others found the power supply room while Tai and the others found an unconscious Andromon trapped under a machine. The group decides to help Andromon out but a Black Gear hidden in the machine was inserted in the Andromon’s right leg without anyone noticing. Andromon woke up and started attacking, but Tai and Agumon was able to get Andromon trapped under a pile of metal. Izzy discovers that it’s a giant battery and a motor that’s keeping the factory running and the door to the interior of the battery. Izzy even discovers that the markings in the battery provide the power for the factory and by erasing part of the markings; the power would go out with it as well. Meanwhile Tai and the others had to keep running away from Andromon. Tentomon asks Izzy whether it’s good to know everything and this causes Izzy to have some past memories. Suddenly the words on Izzy’s laptop beings to move by its own and his digivice started blinking and a virtual map of the File Island was shown. Then Tentomon starts to overheat due to excess powers until Izzy shuts the laptop off. Izzy, Matt and others meet up with Tai’s group who’s busy running away from Andromon. Andromon attacks using Giga Missiles and it seems to be targeting TK, Gabumon digivolved to Garurumon and fends off the attack. Tai’s Agumon digivolves to Greymon and gets rid of one of the missiles as well. The two champion Digimon then attacked Andromon but he proved too much for them. Izzy decides to try the program and succeeded in digivolving Tentomon to Kabutiermon. Izzy notices that Andromon has a weakness in his right leg and asks Kabutiermon to aim for his right leg, which Kabutiermon did and the Black Gear was destroyed. Andromon returned to normal and gives them the exit out of the factory.

The Digidestined walked around in the sewers and started singing. The water dripping from above the sewers stained sora’s shirt and she wished she could wash it. That’s when everyone started thinking about home and gets sad after all those thoughts. Suddenly they got attacked by a group of Numemon throwing (you know what) at them. The Numemon chase them for a while until the Digidestined ran out of the sewers. The Numemon retreated, as they were afraid of sunlight. The Digidestined walked for a while and came across a whole lot of vending machines scattered all over the field. Mimi decides to buy a drink from the machines but a Numemon came out instead, then all the Numemon came out from the other vending machines. Mimi provoked the Numemon and they started attacking. Mimi and Palmon were separated from the others and encountered a Monzaemon who also chase after them as well. They managed to escape Monzaemon with the help from a Numemon. Numemon asks Mimi for a date as a reward but was flatly rejected. Mimi and Palmon then went to Toy Town and found the rest of the Digidestined hypnotized and being chased by toys. They went to one of the shops and found the Digimon locked inside a trunk. The Digimon tell Mimi and Palmon about how they were chased by Monzaemon and ended up in the trunk. Monzaemon discovers Mimi and Palmon and they got chased again, the Numemon tried to help Mimi even though they were no match for Monzaemon. Palmon went to help and failed. Just when Monzaemon using his Lovely Attack, the Numemon set up a barrier to block the attack and got hit by the attack. Palmon sees that the Numemon tried to protect Mimi even though they were weak and powerless; this spurred her to digivolve to Togemon. Togemon attacks with Needle Spray and destroys the Black Gear inside Monzaemon. Monzaemon decides to reward them with his real Lovely Attack for helping to get the Black Gear out of his body. Just then a Numemon came out of a hole in the sewers and asked Mimi for a kiss, but was flatly rejected again. The episode ends in laughter.

The Digidestined walked around and had fun talking about snow fights. They came across a refrigerator by the hot spring area that was filled with eggs and decided to make egg dishes with the eggs. Joe begins to feel worried for the group’s safety and feels that he’s responsible for their safety. The Digidestined begin eating and were asked about which seasonings they would use to accompany the eggs. Joe was upset with all the weird answers as he thinks that only salt and pepper should go with the eggs. Gomamon commented that Joe thinks too stiff and Joe was unhappy about it. Tai and Matt debated on whether to climb the mountain and almost fought. Tai thinks that it could help them get a better view of where they are, but Matt decides against it as he thinks it’s too dangerous. Joe tries to break them up but in the end it was Sora who had to end the argument and get everyone to sleep. Joe decides to climb the mountain to prove his worth, with Gomamon along. They managed to climb up half the mountain by the morning and spot a Unimon drinking by a spring. Gomamon tells Joe that Unimon is a friendly Digimon who wouldn’t harm anything. But then a Black Gear appears and gets into Unimon’s body, and begins to walk towards Joe and Gomamon. The Digidestined woke up in the morning to find the note that Joe that has left for them and gets worried about him. Just as Unimon was about to attack with Joe and Gomamon nowhere to go, the Digidestined arrived. They tried to help but couldn’t defeat Unimon. Joe decides to take Black Gear by himself and puts himself in danger. Gomamon digivolves to Ikkakumon and attacks Unimon, destroying the Black Gear in the process. Joe thanks Gomamon for saving him and it was happy between them again. The Digidestined goes up to the top of the mountain only discover that File Island is a remote island surrounded by seas.

Japan: Devimon, the Messenger of Darkness! / Aired 04.25.1999
The Digidestined wondered about what they should do next after making the discovery. Meanwhile, a battle between Leomon and Ogremon takes place after Ogremon confronts Leomon. Devimon appears and puts a Black Gear in Leomon, thus controlling him. Leomon and Ogremon then attacks the Digidestined together, all the Digimon digivolved to their champion stage with the exception of Patamon, which Devimon takes note of this. The Digidestined managed to escape and they found an unoccupied mansion to stay for the night. The Digidestined make themselves comfortable eating the food, bathing themselves in the tubs and sleeping in the comfy beds. All this makes them think about him and they become sad again. Suddenly, Devimon appears with Ogremon and Leomon and tells the Digidestined that the house and everything in it is just an illusion. Devimon splits the island into many tiny pieces floating away in different directions. Leomon attacks Tai and Agumon tries to intervene but can’t as he had no energy to fight. As Leomon was about to finish Tai, his digivice dropped out from one of the beds and the light from the digivice shone on Leomon. This causes the Black Gear inside him to come out as he returns to normal. Leomon then sends Tai off on a piece of floating ice to save him from Devimon, before Devimon regains control of Leomon. The Digidestined were then separated into the different parts of File Island broken up by Devimon.

Japan: Clash! The Freezing Digimon / Aired 05.02.1999
Tai and Agumon drifted off on the floating ice until they hit a bigger island and landed on the island. They found that it’s a frozen ice land as they drifted further away from the main File Island. They encountered Frigimon who was controlled by the Black Gear as he attacks them with Subzero Ice Punch. Tai and Agumon can only run away from Frigimon as Agumon didn’t have enough energy to digivolve and fight. They ran into a dead end but managed to dodge Frigimon’s attack. Tai then asks Agumon to curl up like a ball and send Agumon onto the back of Frigimon, where the Black Gear is. Agumon fired at the Black Gear and it was destroyed, Frigimon returned to normal after that. Frigimon thanked them and told them he also saw Matt and Gabumon on another island not far from here, so Frigimon decides to help them by using his Subzero Ice Punch to create an ice bridge to connect to the other island. Meanwhile Matt tried in vain to find TK but he was nowhere to be found. Gabumon ask Matt to go into a cave to avoid the snow. Matt rushed inside hoping to find TK, but he wasn’t there. Gabumon starts a fire and asks Matt to rest inside the cave since he has caught and that he will try to find TK for Matt. Tai and Agumon are still on the ice bridge with Frigimon. Gabumon returns to the entrance of the cave to find Matt covered in snow. Gabumon took Matt back to the cave and gave Matt his fur coat to keep Matt warm. In the morning, Tai and Agumon finally arrive at the island that Frigimon saw Matt and Gabumon landed on. Matt woke up to find that Gabumon has caught a cold because he had given his fur coat to keep him warm, Matt feels pretty bad about this. Tai and the others then manage to find Matt and Gabumon on the island. Frigimon noticed that Gabumon has caught a cold, so he decides to gather some herbs for Gabumon. Tai commented that he has never seen a Digimon caught a cold before and Matt went to Gabumon’s defense. Later Matt wanted to find TK urgently as he was worried about TK but Tai seem more interested about the continent that Devimon was talking. An argument broke out between the two and it eventually turned into a fight. They rolled down the slope and fall off the cliff, Tai was able to grab on to a branch while holding on to Matt’s hand on the other. Mojyamon appeared and attacks the group causing the group to fall off, which luckily they landed on Frigimon’s head. Frigimon gave them some food, which they gratefully ate, and the herbs to Gabumon that cures his cold. With new found energy, Agumon and Greymon digivolved to battle Mojyamon. Frigimon sneaked up on Mojyamon and held on to him while Greymon aims at his Black Gear and destroys it. Part of the base of the mountain gave way and Black Gears was revealed, which Garurumon attacks using Howling Flame. This causes the Black Gears to go in reverse direction and bring them closer to the main File Island.

Mimi and Palmon landed on an island and came across Sukamon and Chuumon. They told Mimi and Palmon that they also saw another human and a Digimon land on a nearby island. Mimi request Sukamon and Chuumon to take them there and they discover another island which was floating in parallel to theirs and they decided to go across the to the island leaving Sukamon and Chuumon behind. Meanwhile Izzy and Tentomon found an ancient temple and decide to investigate it. Mimi and Palmon managed to find Izzy and Tentomon in the temple and Mimi was delighted to see Izzy. It was then that they noticed the giant Black Gear inside the temple But Izzy was too fascinated by the writings on the walls that he totally ignored Mimi’s questions. Mimi was upset and she wondered off into the maze, with Tentomon following her. They soon found themselves lost and unable to get out. Izzy manages to work out the exact position of Mimi and Tentomon and gives them directions on how to get out of the maze. But what Mimi and Tentomon didn’t notice is that Centarumon, another Digimon controlled by the Black Gear, has been following them. Centarumon attacks Mimi and Tentomon as Izzy directs them to a dead end. Just when it seems hopeless, Izzy and Palmon showed up. Seeing that Mimi and Izzy were in danger as Centarumon was about to attack, both Palmon and Tentomon digivolved to fight Centarumon. They succeeded in getting rid of the Black Gear inside Centarumon and he becomes his normal self again. The Centarumon talked about the digivice that the Digidestined have and the significance of it. Leomon showed up and tries to attack, but Centarumon stopped him. However Leomon’s attack send Centarumon on his knees as he advanced towards Mimi. Izzy discovers that the light from the digivice stops Leomon in his track, so both he and Mimi points their digivices at Leomon. Leomon then runs away. As the Digidestined settled down again, Mimi gave a kick at the Black Gear as she was unhappy that the Black Gear caused them so much trouble. To their surprise, the Black Gear reversed in direction and the island begins floating back to the main island as they see Sukamon and Chuumon.

Devimon was laughing as he had got the Digidestined separated. Then Joe and Gomamon are floating in the ocean as Gomamon finishes all the remaining food that they had. They saw a box floating towards them but suddenly Ogremon popped out of the box and attacked them. Gomamon used Marching Fishes but Ogremon counteracted with his own attack. Just when Ogremon was about to hit Joe Gomamon digivolved to save Joe. Ikkakumon attacked with Harpoon Torpedo and managed to get away from Ogremon safely. But Ikkakumon was too exhausted to stay champion for very long as he de-digivolves to Gomamon, causing both of them to sink into the ocean. Meanwhile Sora was on an island throwing a fishing line into the ocean hoping they would catch some fish for dinner. Gomamon saw the line and wrapped the line around Joe, Sora and Biyomon thought they had a catch as they tried pulling in, only to realize that it was Joe and Gomamon. Gomamon then explained to Sora and Biyomon what happened. They decide to elect Joe as their leader in order to help Joe regain confidence. Just then everyone heard the sound of bells coming from a church on the hilltop as the fog clears and they decided to investigate. They managed to walk to the church and found out that there were a large group of humans (Bakemon actually) dancing in celebration of a festival. One of them approached the Digidestined and invited them into the church. The humans revealed their true forms as Bakemon as they wanted Joe and Sora as offerings for the festival. The Bakemon surrounded them as they tied Joe and Sora up and throw Gomamon and Biyomon into jail. Gomamon and Biyomon realized they needed food in order to digivolve and save Joe and Sora. They managed to trick the Bakemon on guard to give them food as they knocked him out cold. As all the Bakemon combined to form one giant Bakemon and about to eat Joe and Sora, Gomamon and Biyomon showed up just in time and digivolved to save Joe and Sora. Both of the champion Digimon attacked Bakemon but he doesn’t seem to be affected. Then Joe told Sora that by chanting it would make the Bakemon lose his powers and become weaker and they started chanting. True enough, Bakemon begins to lose his powers as Ikkakumon and Birdramon attacked and defeated Bakemon. The land cracks up and they found the Black Gears inside have stopped moving, so they decide to jump into the ocean and travel back to File Island.

Japan: Adventure! Patamon and Me / Aired 05.23.1999
TK and Patamon landed on the part of the island where the Primary Village is while Devimon was punishing Leomon and Ogremon as they had failed them again. TK started crying as he doesn’t know where they are and Patamon also started to cry as he was unable to digivolve to help. TK stopped crying and asked Patamon what he digivolves into, but TK’s imagination of Patamon’s digivolutions puts Patamon off as they started walking again. They soon found themselves in Primary Village as they played with the toys and had great fun. Then they discovered cradles full of baby Digimon and a field full of Digieggs nearby while TK tries to hatch one of the Digieggs on the field. Meanwhile Elecmon the caretaker of Primary Village was by the riverside trying to catch some fishes for the baby Digimon to eat. TK and Patamon were having a handful taking care of the baby Digimon when Elecmon appeared, thinking that TK and Patamon are trying to harm the baby Digimon. TK, Patamon and Elecmon talked a bit before Patamon and Elecmon started fighting. TK had to stop them as they were making the Digimon cry but Patamon and Elecmon still wanted to fight, so TK decides that they should have a tug-of-war to see who’s better. Patamon wins and Elecmon admits his loss as he welcomes the both of them to Primary Village. Everyone was happy again when TK asks about how to get back to File Island. Elecmon thinks it’s impossible but TK manages to convince him otherwise. At the same time all the Digidestined started getting back to File Island as Devimon ordered Leomon and Ogremon to destroy TK and Patamon after noticing earlier that Patamon was unable to digivolve and it would be easier to deal with the rest of the Digidestined with one less Digimon around.

Japan: Angemon Awakens! / Aired 05.30.1999
Leomon and Ogremon show up and try to attack TK and Patamon. Leomon finds out where TK and Patamon are hiding and was about to finish them off when Garurumon intervened with Howling Flame. Matt and Tai arrived and Garurumon was fighting Leomon while Greymon was battling Ogremon. Suddenly some Black Gears appear from the sky and goes straight into Leomon’s body. Leomon’s body grows to a few times in size and he knocked out Garurumon and Greymon. Leomon went towards TK and Patamon as Mimi and Togemon, Izzy and Kabutiermon arrived to help. Izzy and Mimi tell Tai that they can use the power from their digivice to get rid of the Black Gears. Tai walks towards Leomon and shows his digivice at him, Leomon stops in his track and Matt did the same. The Black Gears were driven out of Leomon’s body as he returns to normal. Leomon then tells them the Legend of the Digidestined and how the 7 Digidestined would be the ones to rid the Digital World of its evil. They decide to go and fight Devimon thinking that they could go home after Devimon is defeated. All of them went towards the top of the mountain where Devimon is. Devimon managed to gather all the Black Gears that he scattered all over the Digital World and absorbs all its powers, causing him to increase to an enormous size. All of the Digidestined’s Digimon digivolved to their champion forms to battle Devimon, but they are no match of him. Leomon tried to sneak up on Devimon but Ogremon suddenly appeared out of Devimon’s body and attacked Leomon. It was then that Leomon realized that Devimon and Ogremon are now one after Devimon has absorbed Ogremon into his body. Devimon knows that the youngest of the Digidestined will be the one set to destroy him, so he decides to finish TK and Patamon first. Just when it seems all lost Patamon finally digivolves to Angemon. Angemon called upon the powers from the Digidestined’s digivice as their Digimon reverted back to their rookie form. Angemon then proceed to defeat Devimon with his Hand of Fate, finishing Devimon off. But it was too much for Angemon as he had used up all his powers. Before reverting to a Digiegg, Angemon say that he will return if TK wishes him to. TK takes hold of the Digiegg as the Digidestined realized that they couldn’t go home even after defeating Devimon. Just then an old man appears in a holographic projection and talks to them.

Japan: Set Sail for a New Continent! / Aired 06.06.1999
The man described himself as Gennai and asks the Digidestined to go to the Continent of Server so that they can get the Tags and Crests for their Digimon to digivolve to a more advanced level. He disappears and the Digidestined decides to take a break to decide on it. They agreed on it and built a raft in order to reach the new continent. Leomon, Mojyamon, Frigimon and all the Digimon that the Digidestined helped along the way went to help them. Meanwhile TK’s Digiegg hatched into Poyomon. They bid Leomon and the others goodbye as they set sail. Suddenly giant waves appear and a Whamon comes to swallow the Digidestined. Once inside Whamon’s body, they realized that a Black Gear is inside his body and they managed to destroy it. Whamon recovers and decides to take them to the Continent of Server for helping him. He tells them that he knows of a underwater cave where the tags might be hidden. Once there, they found a store and get attacked by Drimogemon. Gomamon and Tentomon digivolves to hold off Drimogemon while the Digidestined go inside the store to find the Tags, Tentomon also digivolves to help. They got rid of the Black gear on Drimogemon as Poyomon finds the Tags. They then continued on their journey towards the Continent of Server.

The Digidestined arrived at the Continent of Server where Whamon tells them of a Koromon Village that they should stop by and take a rest. They started walking and soon found the Koromon Village. But they were surprised to see only Pagumon but no Koromon. Mimi says she wanted a bath and the Pagumon suddenly carried her away, causing Mimi to scream. The Digidestined thought Mimi was in danger and rushed to help. They were in the bathroom when they found out that Mimi was actually really taking a bath and got chased out. The Pagumon continued to treat the Digidestined very nicely. While the Digidestined were sleeping at night, the Pagumon kidnapped Tokomon and take him to a waterfall prison. A group of Gazimon saw them and the Pagumon tell the Gazimon that the Digidestined have arrived, which alerted one of the Gazimon to rush off and inform Etemon (whom they work for). Etemon realized the Digidestined have arrived earlier than he expected and immediately used the Dark Network which he created to find the Digidestined. The next day, all the Digidestined went in search of Tokomon. Agumon wonders off and went to the waterfall, which e\he discovers Tokomon and all the Koromon. Two Gazimon show up and attack Agumon, and Agumon seem to be losing. Agumon then aims his Pepper Breath at the waterfall to create a smoke signal. All the Digidestined and their Digimon saw the smoke signal and rushed to the waterfall. Tai arrived at the waterfall first as his presence enabled Agumon to digivolve to Greymon, whom defeated the Gazimon easily. Tokomon and the Koromon were freed but Etemon finds them and started attacking the Digidestined. The Digimon tried digivolving but Etemon’s Love Serenade attack took all their powers away. One of Etemon’s attacks hit the entrance of the waterfall causing it to be sealed. The Digidestined run further into the cave where they realized it’s a dead end. Then Tai’s Tag glows and the whole cave started glowing, the symbol of courage shrink into the size of a Crest and went into Tai’s Tag. Tai has got the Crest of Courage and unlocks a secret opening in the cave leading them to safety.

The Digidestined continued walking and they started talking about how to make Agumon digivolve since Tai has now got the Tag and Crest. Izzy tells them that two of the conditions would be that the Digimon are well rested and fed and when their partners are in grave danger. Tai then keeps feeding Agumon with the food they had, hoping it would help Agumon to digivolve, though the others are not happy about it. Soar and Izzy noticed that Tai has changed since he got the Crest of Courage and recalls how good Tai was before that. Joe finds that his Tag is glowing and rushes off to find his Crest, accidentally triggering the Darkness Network and alerting Etemon of the Digidestined’s whereabouts. They happen upon a Roman Coliseum where they discover there is a giant TV screen a goal net. They found a soccer (foot) ball and started playing, but Tai kicks the ball away thinking that they should concentrate on finding Joe’s Crest instead. Etemon appears from the giant TV screen and surprised the Digidestined. They went to hide in the goal net only to realize it was a trap laid by Etemon as they were trapped inside. The Etemon releases a Greymon into the arena and starts to terrorize the Digidestined. Agumon, who was the only one who’s not trapped in the goal net as he was too full to run earlier, digivolves to battle the other Greymon. However Tai’s Greymon was no match and he’s losing. The Digidestined found out that Greymon has lost most of his powers due to the amount of food he has eaten earlier. Gomamon used Matching Fishes to divert the other Greymon away while they find an escape route. Joe’s Tag starts to glow again and he places it on a weird-looking stone and it indeed proves to be Joe’s Crest. The Digidestined escaped and Tai rushes to the other Greymon putting himself in danger, hoping to make his Greymon digivolve. The Digimon digivolves to save Tai. Just then, Tai’s actions triggers a strange reaction from his Crest as Greymon dark digivolves to SkullGreymon, much to everyone’s horror. SkullGreymon defeats the other Greymon but he seems to be out of control, ignoring Tai’s commands as well. The Digimon tried to battle SkullGreymon but he’s too powerful for them. SkullGreymon ran out of the Coliseum but fortunately went out of energy and de-digivolves back to Koromon before he could hurt the Digidestined. Tai realized that he’s been wrong all along and apologized to Koromon and the rest of the Digidestined.

The Digidestined and their Digimon are walking through the desert. They found a giant cactus but realized that it’s just a mirage. Jennai appears out of a holographic projection again and tells them that they must raise their Digimon properly so that they can digivolve normally before disappearing. They found a large ship in the middle of the desert and managed to go on board, with the help of Mimi. The Digidestined through enjoyed themselves eating, bathing and resting while on the ship. However, they do not notice that Kokatrimon, the pilot 0f the ship and another of Etemon’s henchman, was watching them all along. Kokatrimon then informs Etemon of the Digidestined’s presence on his ship. He then instructed the Numemon to capture the Digidestined. Koromon digivolves to fight but Kokatrimon freezes he and Gomamon with his attack and got Tai and Joe’s crests. Kokatrimon proceeds to freeze the rest of the Digidestined’s Digimon except Sora and Mimi. He tried attacking Sora and Mimi but missed. Biyomon and Palmon digivolved to fight Kokatrimon and they succeeded in defeating him. The rest of the Digidestined were rescued as they escape from the ship. They started walking and find out that the ship is going straight at them. They ran as the ship went right into a giant cactus and was flipped off destroying both the ship and Kokatrimon. Suddenly a flower appears at the top of the cactus and out comes the Crest of Sincerity, which went straight into Mimi’s Tag after it started glowing in response to the Crest. Mimi has now got her Crest of Sincerity but she was somehow reluctant about digivolving Palmon further.

The Digidestined continued walking in the desert when Kuwagamon attacked them. Gabumon asks Agumon to digivolve but Tai was having second thoughts due to the bad experience of SkullGreymon. Suddenly a Pixi Bomb appears and got the Kuwagamon away, they found out that it was Piximon who saved them. Piximon gave them a good lecturing as he finds out that the Digidestined were lacking confidence and the Digimon weren’t really that strong. He decides to give them some rigorous training at his place and ask them to come along. The Digidestined discussed on it and decided that it would be good to have some training. After some walking, Piximon then opens a warp hole to his place as they went in. The Digidestined had to walk up a mountain to reach his place as they clean Piximon’s place once they reached there, all part of the training. While Piximon leads Tai and Agumon for their special training. Piximon asked Tai and Agumon to go inside a cave and they suddenly fall inside a hole. Matt and Izzy’s Tags glowed at night and they decided to find the Crests on their own, leaving Gabumon and Tentomon behind. Tai and Agumon woke up to find that they are on a boat and they started quarrelling after both fell into the river. Meanwhile, Joe and the others woke up to find Matt and Izzy missing. Piximon told them they had went to look for their Crests as they continued their training. Matt and Izzy leave the safety of Piximon’s secret dimension to find their Crests. They soon found their Crests inside a well as one of the wires of Etemon’s Dark Network discovers them. Tyrannomon receives instructions from Etemon as he attacks Matt and Izzy. Joe and the rest were in meditation when Piximon sensed that Matt and Izzy are in great danger and they rushed off to help. At the same time Tai and Agumon are still wondering nowhere in the boat when they happen upon Tai’s past memories when he was still young. The younger Tai was crying that he couldn’t learn how to ride a bike; Tai and Agumon stepped up to give encouragements as they recall what has happened to them. The younger Tai succeeded and Tai and Agumon understand what made them lose their confidence as they begin to regain trust and confidence in themselves. Tai and Agumon realize that their friends are in danger and Agumon digivolved to Greymon to help just as Piximon couldn’t hold the Digidestined in his protective shield any longer. Greymon then go on to defeat Tyrannomon as they bid Piximon goodbye and thank him for his training. The Digidestined continued on with the journey.

Izzy discovers a portal that reveals the Dark Network of Etemon when they found out that a Digimon has e-mailed them for help. The Digidestined decided to help as TK discovers his Crest of Hope. They discovered a cave full of writings just like the ones they saw in Andromon’s factory and Centarumon’s temple. Izzy explains to them the function of the writings and that the Digidestined only exist as data in the Digital World. Izzy goes on to analyze the writings and a map of the Digital World was shown, which was just like the Real World that the Digidestined were from. The networks of both Worlds were identical and Izzy says that the Digital World is just a parallel of the Real World. The sender of the mail then transports them to somewhere near where he is by a change of dimension. At night, Sora and Biyomon comes out of the cave to relieve Tai and Agumon of their guard duties. They talked a bit about finding Sora’s Crest and the fact that they are just data in this world. Izzy tells Sora that if something were to happen to him in the Digital World the same thing would also happen to them in the Real World. Meanwhile the sender sends them further information as to where he is, leading to the interior of a pyramid. Soon they walked to a fence which has been charged with electricity, Izzy figures out the entrance which is apparently made of data and to where the sender of the mail is. They found out it was Datamon and he asks them to free them but Etemon suddenly appears with Gazimon. A fight ensued and the Digidestined’s Digimon digivolved to fight. Datamon was freed but he attacked all of them including Birdramon, who then de-digivolves to Biyomon. Datamon then kidnaps Sora and Biyomon and runs off. Tai and the others went in pursue but stopped at the electric fence, Tai wanted to walk through the fence but Izzy asked Joe to stop him. Tai says that they are just data and they could always try again should they fail, just like the characters in the video games. However Izzy tells them that if they were killed in the Digital World then they would also be finished in the Real World. Izzy then tells Tai that the exit is just a few meters away from him, but Tai was hesitant because of what Izzy just said. Suddenly the wall collapses and Etemon comes out of the wall, having beaten their Digimon. Togemon and Garurumon rushed in to help as they escape to safety. Once at the entrance of the cave where they finds the ancient writings Tai keeps blaming himself for what happened to Sora.

The Digidestined discussed on how they should rescue Sora and Biyomon. Izzy discovers that Datamon is actually hiding at the bottom of the same pyramid. Meanwhile Sora wakes up to find that Datamon has held both her and Biyomon captive. The Digidestined worked out a plan to save Sora but Izzy warns them that they have to go through the same electric fence again. Joe, matt, Ikkakumon and Garurumon attack the pyramid to distract the Digimon on guard and provide a diversion for Tai and Izzy to sneak into the pyramid. They had to use the main passageway as the path was destroyed in the previous battle, putting them in sight of the security camera as the Gazimon saw them. Mimi and Togemon then went on to help Matt and Joe. The Gazimon discovered that Tai and Izzy were in the pyramid and sounded the alarm. Meanwhile Etemon defeats Garurumon, Ikkakumon and Togemon easily as he makes them de-digivolves with his Love Serenade attack. Gazimon informed Etemon that some of the Digidestined are in the pyramid as he rushes back to the pyramid. Etemon discovers where Tai and Izzy is and demands that they tell him where Datamon is. Izzy decides to digivolve Tentomon into Kabutiermon to stall time for Tai to go and save Sora. Tai and Agumon went to the same electric fence just like last time, but this time he manages to muster up enough courage because he wanted to save Sora. Tai succeeded and his Crest started glowing in response to his courage. Just then, Etemon appears and Agumon digivolved to battle him. Tai ran to where Datamon’s room is and finds the captured Sora and Biyomon. Tai manages to get hold of the Tag and Crest back from Datamon but Datamon responded by dropping Sora off into the Darkness Network in which anything would be deleted if they come into contact with it. Tai grabs hold of Sora and gives her the Tag and Crest, enabling Biyomon to digivolve to Birdramon and get both Tai and Sora to safety. Tai, Sora and Izzy then breaks out of the pyramid. Etemon finds where Datamon is and decides to finish him off, but Datamon wanted Etemon to be sacrificed along with him into the Darkness Network. The whole pyramid collapses after Datamon attacks but out comes Etemon, who hasn’t been deleted by the Darkness Network. He decides to finish the Digidestined. They do not know what to do but Tai and Greymon were certain that they could defeat Etemon. Tai and Greymon runs towards Etemon as Tai’s Crest and digivice starts to glow again, this time enabling Greymon to successfully digivolve to MetalGreymon. MetalGreymon defeats Etemon with his Giga Destroyer and sends Etemon back into the Darkness Network. But a rift appears as a result of the attack and both Tai and MetalGreymon get pulled inside. Tai and Koromon were stunned to find that they are in another world after getting pulled through the rift.

Tai and Koromon finds out that they have both returned to the Real World. Tai returns to his home in Odaiba and just before he opens the door he thinks about how his parents would react since he has been away for a long time. But he finds out from the calendar on the refrigerator that it’s the same day they had gone to the summer camp. Tai tries to reason with himself thinking it’s all a dream interrupted saying there’s a girl around. It was actually Tai’s sister Hikari and they were surprised that Kari was aware of the Digital World and the Digimon. Tai then realizes that he has forgotten about his friends as he calls every one of them, but no one’s home. Tai went to cook up something for everyone and he and Koromon eat hungrily. Tai then rest of the sofa, switching on the television set and the air-con, and went to sleep. He wakes up to find Digimon appear in the news and they are supposed affecting the weather, Kari saw it too. Just then the power supply went off and Tai’s digivice started glowing. The computer was switched on and on it appears Izzy, Tai tried to ask him questions about the Digidestined but the connection was cut off he could completely answer anything. Tai asks Koromon whether there’s anyway they could return to the Digital World, but Koromon doesn’t know how. Tai says it’s all right and he goes to ponder on it. Kari and Koromon were eating watermelon when Kari asked Koromon to stay with her and Tai, but Koromon was not able to answer it. Tai also tries to convince Koromon to stay but they both know that something is not right with it. Just then they started seeing Digimon appearing and attacking the city, but they were just holographic images. Kari went out to find them even though Tai tells her not to. Suddenly an Ogremon appears and attacks Koromon, hitting him. Tai’s digivice shines and Koromon digivolves to Agumon who then defeats Ogremon with his Pepper Breath attack. A rift opens and Agumon is pulled into it, Agumon bids farewell to both Tai and Kari. Tai wanted to go along but Kari holds on to his hands, asking him to stay. Kari says she doesn’t want Tai to leave again. Tai realizes that his friends need him more and he ahs to help them. He also gets pulled into the rift as Kari gradually loses hold of Tai. The rift then disappears as though nothing happened, leaving Kari behind. However at the end of the episode we see a digivice on the table shining.

Tai and Agumon return to the Digital World to find that the Digidestined group has split up. They find Tokomon by the side of a lake and Tokomon tells them what happened between him and Tokomon because of Demidevimon and how the others went in search for them. The Digidestined went off one by one to look for Tai and Agumon, leaving Matt and TK behind. Eventually TK was left all by himself and Tokomon. TK was worried for Matt and started crying when Demidevimon appeared. Demidevimon tried to sow discord between Matt and TK but Tokomon knows that Demidevimon is lying and confronts him. TK saw it and asked Tokomon to stop. TK and Tokomon were eventually split up because of Demidevimon. Tokomon says that’s all that happened as they start to look for the others. Meanwhile TK and Demidevimon were playing in an amusement park but TK doesn’t seem to be enjoying himself. Demidevimon realizes this and went off telling TK that he needs to get something. Tai finds TK by the amusement park, TK was happy to see him and reunites with Tokomon, but TK still thinks that it’s Tokomon’s mistake. Tai suggests that they find Matt to clarify any misunderstandings while Demidevimon returns with some mushrooms for all of them to eat. They decide to cook the mushrooms before eating it as Agumon goes to use the toilet. Agumon finds the same mushrooms near the toilet and a voice (Sora) tells Agumon that they would lose all their memories if they eat it. Agumon runs off to tell the others and they confront Demidevimon. TK finally knows that Demidevimon has been lying all along and apologizes to Tokomon. Tai returns TK his Tag and Crest and the digivice that he has thrown away when he was mad at Tokomon. TK’s Crest shine as Demidevimon tries to snatch it away. Tokomon goes to protect TK and he digivolves to Patamon. Patamon manages to blast Demidevimon off after some battling. TK and Patamon are now friends again. Meanwhile, a Digimon appears in front of Demidevimon after he has failed his plan to get the Digidestined’s Crests. Tai and the others then continued looking for the others.

Matt and Gabumon find a restaurant just as Gomamon was pushed out of the restaurant. They find Joe washing dishes in the restaurant and Joe explains what happened to them after they believed Demidevimon’s words. They went to eat in the restaurant but had no money to pay, so Joe ended up washing dishes and Gomamon getting more customers in order to pay for the meal. Digitamamon, the owner of the restaurant, appears and tells Matt that he could help Joe to repay his debt by working there. Demidevimon then gives money to Digitamamon asking him to keep the Digidestined there. Just as Matt and Gabumon were about to go back for TK, Digitamamon appears and threatens to harm Joe unless they stay to help Joe, which Matt reluctantly agrees. But Joe keeps making mistakes and they had to work even more to make up for it. Demidevimon tries to keep Matt and Joe there longer by removing a brick acting as the support for the crate of potatoes. But Sora secretly replaces the brick, spoiling Demidevimon’s plan. Matt was unhappy he couldn’t get back to TK. Demidevimon appears and convinces Matt that Joe is making mistakes on purpose, trying to make them enemies. Back in the restaurant, Demidevimon causes Joe to make another mistake by breaking the plates. Matt had enough and went out. Tai and TK find Joe and he explains to them what happened, while Matt was resting on the grass. Tai comes and says that they should go and find the others instead; Matt wanted to go but he say that Joe would be a burden if he comes along. Digitamamon and Demidevimon appear to prevent the Digidestined from leaving. Tai and TK reveal Demidevimon has been lying all the time. Tai goes after Demidevimon while Matt went to attack Matt. Gabumon digivolves to fight Digitamamon, but he’s too powerful for Garurumon. Meanwhile Vegimon captures TK and gets holds of TK, this makes Joe mad and Gomamon digivolves to fight Vegimon. Joe decides to sacrifice himself to save TK saying he’s sorry for making Matt work so long with him. Matt realizes what Joe has done and that he has wronged Joe. Matt’s Crest glows and his determination to rescue Joe enables Garurumon to digivolve to WereGarurumon. WereGarurumon defeats Digitamamon and Joe was saved. Matt walks up to Joe to thank him for saving TK and apologizes for doubting him. Demidevimon was reprimanded for the Digimon for failing again. The Digidestined decides to split up to find Izzy and the others with Tai and Joe going in one direction and Matt and TK going in the other.

Izzy and Tentomon were looking for Gennai while Demidevimon was thinking of how to get the Digidestined’s Crests. Demidevimon manages to get Izzy into going the other path and falls into Demidevimon’s trap. Suddenly the ground gave way and they fall into the world of Vademon. Vademon tricks Izzy into thinking that his curiosity would cause him to go to hell and make him give up his mind of curiosity along with his Tag and Crest. Izzy loses his mind and could only follow Vademon’s commands. Izzy’s laptop gets a message form Tai but it was soon cut off, Izzy doesn’t seem to care and returns to reading the manual that Vademon has given him. Realizing that he is losing Izzy Tentomon de-digivolves to Motimon and then to Pabumon. Pabumon tries to make Izzy remember by showing him bubbles of the memories they had. Izzy wakes up and recovers. Izzy and Pabumon manage to lock up Vademon and Demidevimon while they are quarreling over the Crest. Pabumon gets Izzy’s Crest back and Izzy soon finds his mind of curiosity. Izzy and Oabumon get attacked by Vademon and Pabumon digivolves all the way to Kabutiermon to fight Vademon but it wasn’t enough to beat Vademon. So Kabutiermon digivolves to MegaKabutiermon, this time defeating Vademon for good. MeagKabutiermon burst out of the hole with Izzy and they were reunited with Matt and TK. Gennai appears and tells them that he has been watching them all along and decides to give them the Digimon Analyzer to help them. At the end of the episode Demidevimon was scolded for failing again.

Tai and the others arrive at a castle that belongs to Otamamon, Gekomon and ShogunGekomon. They find that the Digimon are all busy fussing over the princess. But they were surprised to find that the princess is actually Mimi. Meanwhile Demidevimon talks to the Digimon about what will happen to him should him fail again. Tai and Joe wanted Mimi to go with them and look for the other Digidestined but Mimi was not willing to. Tai and the others refuses to go unless Mimi goes with them, but Mimi just instructs the Gekomon to throw them out of the castle. The Gekomon tells them that their master has been in a deep sleep ever since he lost a singing competition, and then Demidevimon told the Gekomon that Mimi could wake their master up. Tai, Joe and the Digimon tried singing to wake up the Digimon but they were unsuccessful. Tai and the others come up with a plan to make Mimi to sing and record her song, but Mimi finds out and throws them all into prison. Tai and the others tell Mimi that she has changed but she won’t listen. At night Mimi has a nightmare which she dreams of having no friends or Digimon to help her. Sora appears and tells her that what she’s doing is wrong and she should do the right things instead. Mimi’s Crest glowed in response to that. Mimi realized that she was wrong and apologized to everyone and starts to sing. The Gekomon’s master ShogunGekomon finally wakes up but he attacks everyone instead. Some rocks were about to fall on Mimi when Palmon digivolves to Togemon to save Mimi. ShogunGekomon wanted to attack Mimi but Togemon but was stopped by Greymon and Ikkakumon. Then Greymon digivolves to MetalGreymon and attacks ShogunGekomon, putting him in a deep sleep. At the end Demidevimon is punished hanging upside over a flaming pit for failing yet again.

All of the Digidestined were reunited with the exception of Sora. The Digimon whom Demidevimon was working for was revealed as Myotismon and he instructs that he will finish the Digidestined off personally. The Digidestined were close to finding Sora when Flymon appears and attacked them, both Koromon and Tsunomon digivolve to protect their partners. Just then Birdramon appears and defeats Flymon. Tai runs after Birdramon and finds Sora, Sora reveals what each Crest mean and that she avoids them because she wanted to be along for a while. She says that no one understands and loves her since she was young, including her mother and started crying. But everyone thank Sora for what she has done for them and she stops crying. Demidevimon sneaked up to Sora at night while she was asleep trying to attack her. Biyomon wakes up to fend off the attack but was hurt by one of Demidevimon’s Demi Darts. Just then Myotismon appears and started attacking the Digidestined. Motimon digivolves to Tentomon and the rest of the Digimon went to fight. Palmon and Gomamon digivolves to fight and some of Ikkakumon’s missiles hit Vandemon, but he was not affected and beats the Digimon easily. Biyomon wanted to fight but Sora wouldn’t let her, saying that she’s injured. Biyomon says Soar doesn’t understand her and this causes Sora to have past memories so she lets hold of Biyomon. Biyomon then digivolved to Birdramon to fight but was hit by Myotismon. Sora’s love and concern for Birdramon causes her Crest to glow and Birdramon digivolves to Garudamon. Garudamon’s attack managed to stall Myotismon for now and get the Digidestined to safety.

The Digidestined were relaxing by the river when Gennai appears. Gennai tells them that there are actually eight Digidestined and not seven as originally thought to be and that the eighth Digidestined is in Japan. He also tells them that Vandemon also knows of the eighth Digidestined. In Myotismon’s study room Demidevimon tells Myotismon that his troops are ready as Gatomon laughs at them saying that they are weak. Then Gatomon reports to Myotismon that her job is done. A Bakemon appears and informs Myotismon that the room is ready and Myotismon intend to use the gateway in the room to reach the Real World. Meanwhile Agumon and Palmon disguised themselves and trains with part of Myotismon’s army. They decide to get Nanimon drunk so that he will forget their training. Agumon and Palmon then get the Digidestined into the castle after Nanimon was drunk. Myotismon has intended to use certain Digimon cards to gain entry to the Real World. The Digidestined are trying to find Myotismon so that they can stop him. Myotismon instructs Demidevimon to stop them with their army as he gets through to the Real World. All of the Digimon except Biyomon and Patamon digivolved to fight the army. The Digidestined tried to run towards the gate and Gatomon awakens the Devidramon to stop them. Greymon digivolved to MetalGreymon to fight the Devidramon and finished them. The gate shuts just as Tai gets to it.

The Digidestined get out of the castle and Gennai tells them that there is a way to get to the Real World. He asks them to go to his place to discuss on it. They arrive at his place and he explains the location that Myotismon has gone to. Gennai then shows them a list of 10 cards, but only 9 should be in the card slots that would lead them to the Real World. He also explains to the Digidestined that they may not return should they put the cards wrongly. At night, Gennai and Izzy discussed on how the Digital World works and how it’s connected to the computer network of Earth. Gennai also agrees to upgrade Izzy’s Digimon Analyzer as well. The next morning the Digidestined get to Myotismon’s castle to go to Real World. Tentomon digivolves all the way MegaKabutiermon to stop the Devidramon while they make a rush to the gate. The Digidestined stopped at the gate trying to figure out the correct combination needed when they decided to put their trust in Tai and let Tai decide for them. Tai asks Izzy to choose the cards after he ensures that he has the support of everyone. Izzy analyzed the data on the cards slots and manages to figure out that the three animal symbols refer to Leomon (Vaccine), Centarumon (Data) and Etemon (Virus) and number of the stars refer to the Digimon digivolutions stages (Rookie, Champion, Ultimate) to go along with the Digimon’s Attribute. However, Izzy discovers that both Agumon and Gomamon fits into the rookie stage of the Vaccine type but he doesn’t know which is the correct card. The Digidestined said that Izzy has done a great job when Dokugumon attacks them. Gomamon, Palmon and Garurumon digivolves to fight while Tai places the cards into the card slots, choosing between the Gomamon or the Agumon card. Garurumon digivolved to WereGarurumon to battle Dokugumon and defeats him with his Kasier Claws. Tai chooses the correct card (Gomamon) and the gate opens, enabling the Digidestined to return to the Real World just before the whole castle collapses. They return to where they were last at the summer camp. Koromon asked Tai why he doesn’t choose the Agumon card; Tai replies that he wanted to keep it as a souvenir (Yeah right, as if we believe you). The Digidestined then decides to go look for the eighth Digidestined.

The Digidestined found their teacher who tells them to pack up as the summer camp was cancelled due to the snow. They managed to drop off at Highton View Terrace thinking thst they find the eighth Digidestined there. Myotismon and his army have already started looking for the eighth Digidestined. The Digidestined noticed that they had all stayed at Highton View Terrace before. Just then Mammothmon appears and started to attack the city, causing havoc. The Digidestined went to stop Mammothmon, Biyomon digivolved to Birdramon and fight. In the midst of the battle the Digidestined recalled how the battling scenes were like the ones they saw four years ago. They also remember that they saw two Digimon fighting. Birdramon was hit by Mammothmon, Sora’s Crest glows and Birdramon digivolves to Garudamon. Mammothmon was defeated easily. Finally they found out that they become the Digidestined because they have witnessed the battle and they realized that the eighth Digidestined must have seen the fight too.

Myotismon and his henchmen have been searching the city but they still couldn’t find the eighth Digidestined. At the same time the Digidestined figure out that they had one more thing in common, they all moved out of Highton View Terrace after that fight and so they think the eighth Digidestined must have moved out too. The Digidestined decide to take a train to Odaiba. They caused a commotion when a woman’s baby keeps pulling Yokomon’s hair, causing Yokomon to shout in pain. But luckily Sora was able to resolve the matter by pretending that Yokomon is a puppet. The Digidestined went to sleep and they missed their stop, arriving at Shinjuku. Joe and Izzy finds out that the rest have gone missing and goes in search of them, finding Tai and the others at a fast food restaurant. They spent all their money buying food to eat, so they decided to get a lift from Sora’s cousin Duane. Koromon had a stomachache and he did it in the van (You know what I mean). They had a confrontation and Izzy was accidentally knocked off the bridge. Motimon digivolves to Tentomon and saves Izzy, but they were seen by Gesomon. Gomamon digivolves to Ikkakumon and defeats Gesomon easily. The Digidestined decided to use Ikkakumon for transportation to get back home. Demidevimon sees the kids and decides to report to Myotismon.

Tai begins to wonder if Kari is the eighth Digidestined. Both Kari and their family cat Miko were at home when Miko discovers a digivice under the bed. Miko plays with the digivice and knocks it off the balcony. Tai and Koromon return to his house just as Miko dashes out to get the digivice back but it gets stolen by other animals. Izzy gets back to his home with Tentomon and goes out telling his mother that he wanted to see Tai about something. But he was in fact buying a lock for his room so that his parents won’t discover Tentomon. Izzy have dinner with his family and he secretly took some for Tentomon, while Tai did the same thing for Koromon. Tai asks Kari whether she has a digivice but she replies that she doesn’t have one. Miko ended up in a lorry as Raremon, one of Myotismon’s henchmen, picks up a signal from the digivice that Miko is holding to. Izzy checks out the additional features that Gennai has installed on his laptop and discovers that Raremon is in Tokyo Bay. Unable to contact the others as they were asleep, Izzy and Tentomon had to go on their own. Meanwhile Miko is trying to run away from Raremon when Izzy and Tentomon encountered Raremon. Izzy picks up a signal on his digivice thinking that the eighth Digidestined is nearby (or rather the digivice). Tentomon digivolves to fight Raremon while Izzy looks for the eighth Digidestined. Both Izzy and Demidevimon pick up the signals and went searching. Miko drops the digivice after seeing a dog, which just left the digivice there. A crow picked up the digivice and it files away. Demidevimon discovers Izzy and corners him, but Kabutiermon comes and saves Izzy after defeating Raremon. Izzy returns back to his room when he accidentally finds out that his parents have been hiding something from him, which Izzy knows about it but didn’t dare to ask anything about it. Tai wakes up and was worried for Izzy. Kari sees a shooting star but it’s actually the digivice as the crow was carrying it.

At the beginning of the episode Myotismon is seen mesmerizing a woman as he drinks her blood, Myotismon says he wants to conserve enough energy to battle the Digidestined. Meanwhile, Izzy informs the others about what happened last night. Tai and the others try to find their address books hoping that they could get some clue as to who the eighth Digidestined is from the address books. Izzy recaps that the eighth Digidestined must have seen the battle between Greymon and Parrotmon four years ago as they decides to split up to find the eighth Digidestined in different places. Joe volunteers to call everyone listed while he would be away for another summer camp, which everyone gives him his or her address books. Myotismon arrive at the new base as Gatomon goes to find the eighth Digidestined. The Digidestined goes to different places to find the eighth Digidestined, while Joe calls everyone on the list. Gatomon meets Kari in the park and Kari asks if she’s a friend of Agumon, making Gatomon suspicious. She decides to follow Kari back to her house. Meanwhile Sora and Mimi goes to the top of the Tokyo Tower hoping to find the eighth Digidestined. Suddenly the air-con systems break down as SkullMeramon, also one of Myotismon’s henchmen, appears and attacks them. Tai and Izzy notices that the Tokyo Tower appears to be slanting and they discover that Birdramon and Togemon are fighting with SkullMeramon. Tai and Izzy arrive to help and Agumon digivolved to Greymon to battle SkullMeramon, but he’s too powerful for Greymon. Greymon then digivolves to MetalGreymon and defeats SkullMeramon with his Giga Destroyer. Gatomon wanted to finish Kari but Kari turns her head just in time, causing Gatomon to fall off the sofa. Gatomon then runs away not totally sure if Kari was indeed the eighth Digidestined.

Matt and TK are on a train when TK argues with Patamon. He gets off on the next stop so Matt, TK and Tsunomon follow him. Meanwhile two of Myotismon’s henchmen Pumkinmon and Gotsumon are having fun in the same part of town as Matt and TK is. They then encounter Matt and TK. Thinking they are enemies, Tsunomon digivolve to Gabumon to fight them. But it turns out that Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon just wanted to have fun even though Myotismon sends them to find the eighth Digidestined. Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon are having fun when Matt and TK noticed Patamon flying past, so they decide to go after him. But they lost track of Patamon as Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon get into more mischief and trouble. Myotismon shows up and orders them to steal the Digidestined’s Tags and Crests. They chase the Digidestined for a while and got them trapped, but Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon would rather have fun then fight them. Just then Myotismon returns and sends them back to the Digital World to be punished when he goes back. Matt and TK think that they have been destroyed, triggering Gabumon to digivolve to Garurumon and then to WereGarurumon to fight Myotismon. TK’s wish for Patamon to appear causes Patamon to digivolve to Angemon to help fight Myotismon. They managed to fend off Myotismon. Things return to normal for TK and Patamon as all of them continued looking for the eighth Digidestined.

Tai returns to his home when Joe called and tells Tai that they have no information about the eighth Digidestined from the address books except for Tai’s. Tai goes to look for his address book again while Gatomon is on the rooftop of the apartment opposite Kari’s flat, observing Kari. She had a strong feeling that Kari could be the eighth Digidestined but no evidence to prove it. She remembers of her past when she was still Salamon and how Myotismon tortured her. Wizardmon shows up as Gatomon instructs him to look for the eighth Digidestined. Wizardmon finds the digivice in a crow’s nest and takes it to Gatomon after tricking Demidevimon. He talks to Gatomon about how she has been waiting for someone all along, how they met and what she told him. He remembers how she saved him as they see Kari on the balcony and decide to go to her. Gatomon shows the digivice to Kari and it shines just as Kari touches it, indicating Kari was the eighth Digidestined that everyone have tried so hard looking for. Wizardmon asks Gatomon to recall who she has been waiting for all this moment, and remembers how she lost her memories under Myotismon. Tai and Agumon notice that Kari is talking to Gatomon and Wizardmon. Agumon fires a Pepper Breath and it’s right in the path of Kari, but Gatomon pushes her and takes the hit. It was then that Gatomon remembers she has been waiting for the eighth Digidestined and that person is Kari. Wizardmon then asks Tai to keep the digivice as Gatomon and Wizardmon go to find the Kari’s Tag and Crest. They manage to find the Tag and Crest in Myotismon’s Crypt but Myotismon discovered them. Myotismon wanted to finish them off but changed his plans when he finds out that Gatomon is the eighth Digimon as they battle. Myotismon then throws Wizardmon into the river. Tai went to help and Agumon digivolved to MetalGreymon to fight Myotismon. MetalGreymon soon de-digivolves back to Agumon having not recovered from the fight earlier in the day. Myotismon manages to get away taking Gatomon prisoner.

Myotismon creates a fog barrier around Odaiba to block the sunlight and to prevent outside interference as he finds the eighth Digidestined. Mimi gets back home with her dad in the thick fog. All means of communication to the outside world have been cut off due to Myotismon’s powers. Matt’s father, who works in the TV station, decides to check out what’s happening along with his colleagues. Meanwhile Myotismon sends out Phantomon and the Bakemon to round up the city inhabitants and hold them prisoners. Matt’s father tells Matt about what happened and tells Matt to remain in a safe place until everything returns to normal. Sora and Mimi are among those captured as they and the others devise a plan to break out. A DarkTyrannomon appears and Mimi’s dad tries to protect them, and was hit instead. Palmon digivolve to Togemon to fight DarkTyrannomon, but Togemon seems to be losing. Mimi’s wish to protect her parents causes her Crest to glow and Togemon digivolves to Lillymon. Lillymon’s attack manages to tame DarkTyrannomon. Myotismon appears and finishes DarkTyrannomon, saying he is no longer of any use. He then starts to attack Lillymon. At the same time the rest of the Digidestined are trying to get to Odaiba in the thick fog. Sora was about to be captured by the Bakemon again but Biyomon and her mum saves her.

Myotismon attacked Lillymon when Birdramon saves her. Sora has no choice but to leave her mum behind and go with Birdramon. Tai goes off to save his parents, leaving Kari in the care of Matt. Izzy switches on his laptop at home and receives e-mail from Gennai. He informs Izzy to activate a Digital Barrier in his room to prevent being seen by Phantomon the Bakemon. Izzy’s parents ask him to get to safety but Izzy wanted the Barrier to be completed first. Izzy’s mum panics but his dad tells her to have trust in Izzy as he successfully activates the Digital Barrier. Phantomon and the Bakemon went into their house but they couldn’t see Izzy and his parents, making them safe. Meanwhile Demidevimon puts the people at the convention center to sleep while Myotismon makes Gatomon look at the children to see if the eighth Digidestined is there. He threatens to destroy all of them if Gatomon dares to lie. Joe and TK manages to find each other at the port after they found out that all the ferry services have been cancelled due to the fog. They decide to use Ikkakumon as transport. At Izzy’s place Gennai tells Izzy to go to the center of the TV station in order to get rid of the fog. Izzy rushes off with Tentomon to the TV station. Tai and Sora meet up as Tai tells Sora to go to Matt and Kari while he goes to save his parents. However Sora didn’t notice that a Phantomon is watching them and following them. Joe and TK are out at sea when MegaSeadramon attacks them. Both of them fall into the sea and Joe gives TK some wood to grasp on, even though he can’t swim himself. Joe sinks into the water and his Crest shines, digivolving Ikkakumon to Zudomon. He saves the Digidestined and defeats MeagSeadramon. Joe’s Crest manages to create an opening in the barrier as they get through the fog. Izzy and Tentomon are inside the TV station when they meet up with Matt’s father. Joe and TK find Wizardmon in the water with Kari’s Crest. Sora meets up with Matt and Kari but Phantomon discovers them. Phantomon summons Tuskmon and Snimon to help him as Garurumon and Birdramon fight them. But they prove too much even after Birdramon digivolved to Garudamon. In order to save her friends Kari decides to surrender to Phantomon.

Demidevimon informs Myotismon that they found the eighth Digidestined as Kari is taken to Myotismon. He puts all of the children to sleep as he goes to deal with Kari, taking Gatomon with her. Mimi’s Crest wakes her up and she meets up with Tai after Greymon defeated some Bakemon. Mimi tells Tai that the eighth Digidestined is now with Myotismon as Tai worries for his sister. Izzy, Matt, Sora, Joe, TK and Matt’s dad gathered outside the TV station as Wizardmon heals Lillymon. He tells the Digidestined that the eighth Digidestined is Kari and her Digimon is Gatomon. They notice Myotismon going in to the TV station with Gatomon and decide to follow them. Tuskmon and Snimon appear again and try to attack them, Garurumon digivolves to fight them together with Zudomon and Garudamon. With Matt’s father leading the way they go into the station. Meanwhile Myotismon goes to Kari and tries to make Gatomon recognize her. After Demidevimon hurts Kari she calls out Kari’s name. Just as he is about to finish Kari and Gatomon the Digidestined arrive. A battle ensues and Wizardmon throws the Tag and Crest at Kari. She got hold of the Tag and Crest as Tai appears and throws Kari her digivice, but Demidevimon snatches it away. Phantomon tries to attack Tai and Greymon digivolves to MetalGreymon to fight him. All of the Digimon concentrate their attacks at Myotismon but he manages to neutralize all of the attacks. Patamon digivolves to Angemon and hits Myotismon with Heaven’s Knuckles. He attacks back but not at Angemon but at Kari and Gatomon instead, Wizardmon jumps in front and was hit by the attack, sacrificing himself. Just before he was deleted Wizardmon thank Gatomon for saving his life before and knowing her as a friend. Kari’s digivice and Crest shines as Demidevimon loses hold of the digivice. Tai catches it and throws it at Kari; she catches it and enables Gatomon to digivolve to Angewomon. She proceeds to defeat Myotismon with her Celestial Arrow together with the combinations of attacks from all the Digimon. They finally defeated Myotismon but then they realize that the fog is getting thicker instead of clearing up.

Japan: Revival! Venom Vandemon the Devil/ Aired 11.28.1999
Izzy receives e-mail from Gennai who informs them of a prophecy as follow:
“In the beginning bats cover the sky in Darkness.
Then everyone chants the name of the undead Digimon King.
And when the time comes to the timing of the Beast the undead Digimon King will return with all its evil glory.
But angels appear shooting arrows of hope and light at the ones they care and love most and the World will witness a miracle.”
Gennai wishes them good luck and disappears. Some of the Digidestined went back to their homes to find their parents. Izzy’s parents are still safe in the Digital Barrier. Joe finds his brother Jim hiding inside a cupboard. Soon all the Digidestined and their Digimon go to the convention center and defeated the Bakemon along the way. They find their parents in a deep sleep. Jim tells them that their parents are not in any serious condition. Matt, TK and their father go to the sea to find TK’s mother but they couldn’t find her in the fog. Suddenly a large group of bats appear in the sky. Izzy and his parents have a brief talk as they reveal that they are not Izzy’s real parents and he was actually adopted. They tell him that his real parents perished in a car accident. Izzy says he knows about it all along and says he was thankful for what they have done and cries while they comfort him. All the parents in the convention center then started chanting “Myotismon Lord and Master”. The Digidestined notice that the events are happening according to the prophecy and Matt’s dad reveals that the timing of the Beast is “Six, Six, Six”. Tai realizes it means the sixth second, of the sixth minute, of the sixth hour (6:06 min 06 sec) and that they have no time to prevent it from happening. Myotismon was revived but he comes back in the Mega form of VenomMyotismon. Agumon and Gabumon digivolve to their Ultimate forms but their attacks doesn’t seem affect VenomMyotismon much. The Digidestined gathered up and the Digimon decide that only Patamon and Gatomon should digivolve and fight. MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon de-digivolve having used up all their energy just as Angemon and Angewomon arrive to help. The Digidestined read up on the prophecy and find out that the angels refer to Angemon and Angewomon. They figure out that they must shoot the arrows of hope and light at Tai and Matt in order to complete the prophecy. TK and Kari are hesitant but Tai and Matt tells them to go ahead. The arrows were shot at Tai and Matt and a miracle indeed happens. Agumon Digi-Wraps to his Mega form WarGreymon and Gabumon Digi-Wraps to his Mega form MetalGarurumon.

With WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon around they battle VenomMyotismon. The Digidestined then went to help them. All the Digimon digivolve and attack VenomMyotismon at once, causing the beast within him to be released. The beast attacks and hits all the Digimon, making the situation seem bad. Suddenly all the Digidestined’s Crests starts to shine and hold VenomMyotismon down. Tai realize that the beast must be the true form of VenomMyotismon and asks WarGreymon to attack it. MetalGarurumon throws the sphere from the TV station to WarGreymon as he hits it at the beast, together with their most powerful attacks. VenomMyotismon was destroyed and all the parents recovered from their deep sleep. The fog clears up but everything is not back to normal. The Digidestined find out that there’s a huge landmass floating in the sky. They were reunited with their parents but only for a short time. Izzy asks Tai to look into his monocular to see if the landmass is indeed the Digital World as he notices a plane in trouble. Biyomon digivolves to Garudamon to help the plane as Kabutiermon tries to fend off a Kuwagamon coming at them. But the attack just slips past Kuwagamon. Izzy tells them that the landmass in the sky is actually the Digital World. The Digidestined realize that they have to return to the Digital World. Using their digivices, they go back to the Digital World as they bid farewell to their parents.

The Digidestined returned to the Digital World wondering what has happened to it. They find Chuumon who tells them of the Digital World after they were gone and the Dark Masters. He informs them that the Digital World is now on the Spiral Mountain. Suddenly the first of the Dark Masters MetalSeadramon appears. The Digimon digivolve to their champion stage but soon got beaten. MetalSeadramon attacks the Digidestined sending them to the Machinedramon. He fires at Angemon making him de-digivolve. All the Digimon except Patamon digivolve to their Ultimate form to fight Machinedramon. But Machinedramon defeats them easily as he fires at the ground sending the Digidestined falling to the next Dark Master Puppetmon. Puppetmon controls them with his wires. He releases the Digidestined and fires at the Digimon making them de-digivolve to their rookie form as they fall again. They find themselves in a coliseum as Piedmon, the final and the most powerful of the Dark Masters reveals himself. Agumon and Gabumon Digi-Wrap to their Mega form to fight him but they were soon defeated and de-digivolve back to their rookie form. Piedmon then starts to introduce the members of the Dark Masters as they decide to finish off the Digidestined, starting with Mimi. Piedmon throws one of his swords at Mimi but Chuumon jumps and takes the hit. Chuumon was deleted just as Piximon arrive to help the Digidestined. He sends them to a safe place while he stalls time for the Digidestined fighting off the Dark Masters. Piximon was destroyed by the Dark Masters in the end.

The Digidestined find themselves on the same beach that they had been to in the beginning, which is part of MetalSeadramon’s domain. They fall into Shellmon’s trap get attacked. Pukamon, Tanemon, Motimon and Yokomon digivolve to their rookie form to fight off Shellmon. Shellmon runs away and Tai realize that the Digimon have become stronger. He recalls Piximon saying that they still need something in order to defeat the Dark Masters. They walked for a while and see a beach house. They rushed inside to get some refreshments, not knowing that it’s a trap set by MetalSeadramon and his men. Only Joe and Mimi escaped as they reached the beach house later. The rest of the Digidestined are attacked by Scorpiomon and become unconscious. MetalSeadramon thinks that they have succeeded and goes in to check on the Digidestined, which he discovers two of the Digidestined missing. He orders Scorpiomon to find Joe and Mimi. Gomamon and Palmon digivolve to Ikkakumon and Togemon to fight him, but they wasn’t powerful enough. Just as Scorpiomon was attacking he was distracted by the sight of food. Ikkakumon and Palmon use this opportunity to digivolve. They manage to defeat Scorpiomon and save the rest of the Digidestined just as MetalSeadramon sets the house on fire. MetalSeadramon finishes Scropiomon off for failing and went off. The Digidestined then wonder if their Digimon can beat the Dark Masters. Just then MetalSeadramon re-appears before them while the Digidestined try to get away by sea, with Lillyomn acting as a distraction. MetalSeadramon attacks Lillymon causing her to de-digivolve and attacks Zudomon. The Digidestined fall into the water and Zudomon was reverted back to Gomamon. Suddenly Whamon appears and gets the Digidestined to safety for the time being.

MetalSeadramon sends his army of Divermon to find Whamon and the Digidestined. Whamon tells the Digidestined that the Dark Masters now have control of the Digital World as they promise to defeat the Dark Masters. Whamon takes them to an island where the think it’s safe. Matt doubts whether the Digimon can defeat MetalSeadramon, but Izzy steps up and says the WarGreymon has a chance with his Dramon Killer attack, which is especially effective against Digimon such as MetalSeadramon. Gomamon informs the Digidestined that the army of Divermon is coming as Whamon tries to get away with the Digidestined hiding inside his stomach. Izzy manages to link his laptop to Whamon’s body to get a view of what’s happening outside. The Divermon finds Whamon as Whamon swims off. They manage to get rid of the Divermon using the pressure in the deep sea. Izzy has an idea as he asks Kari to blow her whistle to find a way out. However MetalSeadramon manages to follow them as they get to the surface. MetalSeadramon attacks as Agumon Digi-Wraps to WarGreymon to fight him. Gomamon digivolves to Ikkakumon and then to Zudomon to battle the Divermon. But MetalSeadramon gets WarGreymon caught in his jaws. Just as MetalSeadramon was about to destroy him Whamon saves him. But he was hit by MetalSeadramon’s attack. WarGreymon proceeds to defeat MetalSeadramon. Whamon sacrificed himself saying that the Digidestined must save the Digital World. They then realize that water is vanishing from the Spiral Mountain after MetalSeadramon was defeated.

Mimi and Matt decide to make graves for the Digimon who died trying to help them. Mimi says she has enough of fighting as Tai and Matt gets into a argument. They decide to stop it and head into the forest. Everyone’s mind was thinking about something else. Kari stops in the middle of the path thinking she heard someone calling her, but only Kari was able to hear it. Meanwhile Puppetmon was observing the Digidestined from his TV, frustrated that they are taking so long. So Puppetmon decides to activate the conveyor belt under the ground moving it forward. The Digidestined decide to get away and climb up a tree. As they are discussing on how to beat the Dark Masters the Digidestined begin disappearing one by one until Matt and TK are left. Matt says he will protect TK but TK was unhappy that Matt treats him as though he never grows up. Matt was rather shaken by the words. Puppetmon was actually playing with them all along. With the others out of the way, Puppetmon kidnaps TK and takes him to his mansion. TK was having a hard time hiding away form Puppetmon as Patamon finds the mansion and decides to look for TK inside. TK accidentally steps on the remote control causing the conveyor belts to move and the Digidestined were reunited. They decide to save TK as Kiwimon shows up and attacks them. Koromon digivolves to Agumon and all the Digimon went to fight Kiwimon. Patamon discovers the map, the Digidestined dolls and the remote control that Puppetmon was playing with. Puppetmon was close to finishing off TK when TK comes up with a plan to distract Puppetmon away. Patamon finds TK as he destroys the maps and the remote control while taking the dolls away. Meanwhile Matt wanted Gabumon to Digi-Wraps to MetalGarurumon to fight Kiwimon and make him tell where TK is, but his Crest and digivice doesn’t react at all. TK and Patamon runs away as Puppetmon discovers that his things are destroyed. One of Kiwimon’s attack is about to hit Sora when Biyomon digivolves to Birdramon and saves her, defeating Kiwimon with her Meteor Wings attack. The Digidestined find TK returning safe and sound. Suddenly Matt decides to leave the group with Gabumon following him. Puppetmon swears revenge on TK for destroying his toys.

The Digidestined realize Matt and Gabumon were missing, but they couldn’t find them. Joe says he saw Matt and Gabumon but he doesn’t know where they went. Kari hears the voice again but she doesn’t know who is it. Matt and Gabumon walk to the side of a lake as Puppetmon and Cherrymon watch them on the other side of the river. Matt tells Gabumon that TK doesn’t need him anymore now that he’s able to take care of himself. Meanwhile the Digidestined are walking in the forest when Puppetmon appears. He instructs the Garbagemon to attack them. Mimi had enough and throws one of the attacks back at them; Sora comes and gets Mimi away. Cherrymon tricks Matt into thinking that Tai is his rival and he must defeat him in order to become the person he wants to be. The Digimon digivolve to battle the Garbagemon but the Garbagemon dodge their attacks. One of them aims at Mimi as Togemon digivolves to Liilymon to fight them. Greyomn also digivolves to MetalGreymon as they defeat the Garbagemon one by one. Matt was convinced that he must defeat Tai although he doesn’t believe what Cherrymon said at first. Gabumon decides to help Matt as he Digi-Wraps to MetalGarurumon because of the bond between them. Cherrymon reports to Puppetmon that he has succeeded in creating conflict between Matt and Tai. Cherrymon tells Puppetmon that he might not be able to defeat the Digidestined as he was lacking something. Puppetmon destroys Cherrymon after hearing it. The last of the Garbagemon decides to suck the Digimon and the Digidestined into his bin when MetalGarurumon shows up and defeats Garbagemon. He then attacks Agumon as Matt challenges Tai to a duel.

At first Tai and Agumon didn’t want to fight, but seeing that they have no choice, Agumon wrap digivolve to WarGreymon to battle MetalGarurumon. In the middle of the battle, Kari is taken over by a entity who takes them back in time to see how they were chosen to become the Digidestined. They went back to when they first witnessed the fight between Greymon and Parrotmon four years ago. They then go to the place where all the Digieggs and their Tags and Crests are kept. The entity reveals that Tai and the others were chosen to become the Digidestined because of the special quality that each one has and that their powers are needed to save the Digital World. The entity tells them that Piedmon has invaded the place hoping to get the Crests, but a young Gennai takes the Digieggs together with the Tags and Crests to safety. But one of the Digieggs and Crests was accidentally dropped behind in the Digital World, and Gatomon was left in the Digital World. Tai and Matt make up, but Matt still decides to travel alone as he wanted time to think about his purpose. Not wanting to see any more fights, Mimi stays behind. Joe stays behind with her saying that they would catch up with the rest of the Digidestined should Mimi change her mind.

Ogremon is being chased by a group of Woodmon wanting to sap his energy. Meanwhile Joe and Mimi are eating when a meteorite comes into sight. It crashes into the Woodmon and sends Ogremon flying. Tai and the others also noticed about the meteorite but decide that fighting Puppetmon would be more important. The meteor happens to be MetalEtemon. Joe and Mimi go to the meteor site to find Ogremon lying nearby, unconscious and hurt. They decide to help him. Ogremon thanked them as Puppetmon appears and fight them. Gomamon digivolves to Zudomon but gets beaten. Just then MetalEtemon appears and Puppetmon attacks him instead. Joe and the rest use the distraction to get away. Meanwhile Tai and the others encounter Floramon and Deramon who both dislike Puppetmon. Ogremon tells Joe and Mimi of his destiny to fight Leomon because he was born to do so. Tai and the rest plan to launch attack at Puppetmon as Deramon fires at Puppetmon with Puppetmon’s cannon. Joe and Mimi are having a hard time running away from MetalEtemon who was chasing them. Suddenly a Digimon appears in front of them.

The Digimon happens to be SaberLeomon, the Mega form of Leomon. He takes them to the restaurant where Joe was forced to work before. There they meet Gekomon and Otamamon who were hiding away from the Dark Masters. Tai and the others face Puppetmon as they go into battle. Gekomon and Otamamon tells Joe and Mimi about what happened, Mimi was upset about always having to fight evil Digimon. Leomon tells Mimi to treat it as a test for the Digidestined and that the Dark Masters is also a test for them. Puppetmon manages to control WarGreymon with his wires and use him to attack the Digidestined. Seeing their partners are in danger, the Digimon digivolve to their Ultimate forms to save them. Puppetmon seems to have been beaten but he then turns his house into a huge fighting machine to battle them. MetalEtemon tracks Joe and the rest down and Leomon decides to digivolve to SaberLeomon to fight him. MetalEtemon is defeated with the help of Zudomon but SaberLeomon is fatally injured too. He de-digivolves into Leomon after the battle. Meanwhile Tai and the others are fighting a losing battle against Puppetmon until MetalGarurumon appears and defeats him with his Froze Blizzard attack. In his dying moments he asks Cherrymon what the Digidestined have that he doesn’t, Cherrymon’s voice says that it’s friends. Sora sees Matt and MetalGarurumon but they decide to walk away instead. Before Leomon was deleted, he tells Joe and Mimi that he will be reborn in Primary Village and tells them not to cry. Joe and Mimi grieve for the loss of Leomon but they find new found confidence to defeat the Dark Masters as Ogremon decides to join them along, asking other Digimon to help them as well.

Kari falls ill again while they were walking and Tai blames himself for what happened to her. Tentomon discovers a city as he takes them there. Tai, Izzy and their Digimon decide to search for medicine while Kari is resting in a mansion. Izzy looks up on his computer using one of the telephone lines hoping to find the hospitals. However, they didn’t know that Machinedramon is following their every move. He sends out his Metal Empire army to find the Digidestined. Tai and Izzy arrive at the hospital as Izzy uses the telephone line to find the type of medicine they need, Machinedramon finds out and sends his army to the hospital. Izzy uses his computer to find out the location of all the enemy Digimon to find the safest route back, Machindramon finds out and sends his army to where Tai and Izzy are. They try to escape after Izzy realizes his mistake. Tai is mad at Izzy but he manages to calm down, he then reveals how Kari almost died when she was younger because of him. Izzy manages to make many access points to where they could be to confuse the enemies. But Machinedramon decides that enough is enough and instructs the city to be destroyed. Tai returns to the mansion where Kari is resting just as a missile hits and destroys the place. Tai shouts for Kari as one of the missiles is flying towards him. Nut luckily Angemon’s attack destroys the missiles as they meet up with TK, Sora and Kari. Machinedramon appears and fires at them as they go into a building to hide. The Digidestined start to fall down a pit.

Kari wakes up to find TK and Sora and is glad to see them, but they have been separated from Tai and Izzy while falling down the pit. While they are looking for Tai and Izzy, they find a group of Numemon working and being tortured by WaruMonzaemon. Kari gets upset and starts to glow. The light gives the Numemon power as WaruMonzaemon discovers them and goes after them. Kari stays behind and frees the Numemon with Gatomon while Sora and the rest provide a distraction. But Sora and the others have to run away from WaruMonzaemon as Biyomon and Patamon doesn’t have the energy to digivolve and fight. They run back to where Kari is as the Numemon try to attack WaruMonzaemon. Kari glows again and this gives the power for Patamon and Biyomon to digivolve and fight off WaruMonzaemon. He runs off and informs Machinedramon about the Digidestined, Machinedramon says that he has no use for him anymore and destroys him. Sora and the rest then continue to look for Tai and Izzy. Meanwhile Tai and Izzy meet up with Andromon who tells them why he was in the sewers. Machinedramon appears and attacks them. Tai and Izzy are reunited with Kari and the others as they run. The Digimon try to battle Machinedramon but they were no match for him. Just when it seem hopeless, Kari starts walking towards Machinedramon as the Numemon crawls all over Machinedramon, which Machinedramon destroys them with his Giga Cannon attack. Kari cries out and glows again, giving Agumon the power to warp digivolve to WarGreymon. WarGreymon and Machinedramon exchange hits and Machinedramon is defeated. The Digidestined get to safety as the cities on Spiral Mountain disappears. Tai says Piedmon is next.

Joe and Mimi tries to find more Digimon to help them after seeing that the third Dark Master Machinedramon has been defeated. Tai and the others are walking up the Spiral Mountain when Piedmon sends LadyDevimon to fight the Digidestined. Joe and Mimi reach Primary Village only to find that the place has already been destroyed. LadyDevimon appears before Tai and the others as the Digimon digivolve one by one to battle LadyDevimon. Knowing that all their strength will be needed for the battle with Piedmon, Tai sends Sora and TK to search for Matt and the others. Joe and the rest meet Elecmon, who found Matt’s harmonica on the beach. Joe leaves Mimi with the rest of the Digimon to find Matt on his own and to find himself too. Meanwhile Angewomon is battling LadyDevimon along with MegaKabutiermon. LadyDevimon beats Angewomon to the ground and is about to delete Angewomon when MegaKabutiermon comes in and saves her. Angewomon then comes back and defeats LadyDevimon with her Heaven’s Charm. The Digimon de-digivolve and Piedmon starts walking slowly towards the three Digidestined. Agumon wrap digivolves to WarGreymon to prepare against Piedmon.

Sora and TK look for Matt and the others while WarGreymon tries to hold off Piedmon, hoping that all the Digidestined would get back in time. Meanwhile, Matt and Gabumon are wandering in a dark cave created by the darkness in Matt’s heart. Matt is initially disheartened that he is not needed but Gabumon bites him and gives him words of encouragement. Once Matt realizes his true feelings the cave and darkness disappear. Matt is reunited with Joe. Sora and TK find the swan boat that Matt has rode on and decides to land there. Sora strongly believes that she is responsible for finding Matt and the others and gets pulled by the power of darkness into the same cave that Matt had been in. Matt and Joe reunites with TK who tells them that Sora has fallen into the cave as they go in to search for her. Sora is feeling hopeless and that she has let Tai down. But when the others persuade her that she doesn’t have to be responsible for everything, Sora’s negative feelings disappears and so does the cave. They rush to the top of the Spiral Mountain to find an injured Tai and WarGreymon fighting Piedmon. Tai tells Matt that he always believed Matt would come back and help them fight. Matt’s Crest of Friendship glows and gives the power to restore WarGreymon back to normal. Piedmon attacks and Gabumon wrap digivolves to MetalGarurumon. The two Mega Digimon then prepare to battle Piedmon.

Just when the Digimon are attacking, Piedmon brings out a white handkerchief and turns WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon into key chains. Then he turns Tai and Matt into key chains as well. The Digidestined run away, but they can’t escape Piedmon. One after the other, they are turned into key chains until only TK, Kari and Patamon are left. However Sora is able to get Matt’s key chain to TK before she is turned into a key chain. Piedmon finds them. Patamon digivolves to Angemon to stall Piedmon while TK and Kari climb up a rope while they found. Piedmon defeats Angemon easily and cuts off the rope, causing both TK and Kari to fall. The situation seem hopeless, but Matt’s key chain tells him not to give up hope as TK realizes that he has to never give up hope. His Crest starts glowing and Angemon digivolves to MagnaAngemon. He saves TK and Kari and gets them safely to the ground. MagnaAngemon gets the key chains back and changes them back to normal. Piedmon summons many Digimon to fight the Digidestined just as Joe and Mimi rejoins them. They then battle the evil Digimon. The Digimon digivolve and attack Piedmon one by one. MagnaAngemon then uses his Gate of Destiny attack to defeat Piedmon, with some help from WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. The fourth and last Dark Masters has been defeated, but Gennai tells them that their real enemy is actually not the Dark Masters.

Suddenly the ground begins to give way and the Digidestined fall into an endless world of darkness. Gennai emails them saying that this final enemy is the root of all evils in the Digital World and tells of a prophecy of the previous group of Digidestined defeating the enemy. The negative energy consolidates into one being and becomes Apocalymon. Apocalymon says he is the result of all the Digimon deleted in the process of evolution and all the sadness and vengeance within them. He then attacks the Digidestined using the attacks of all the Digimon that they have defeated in the past. Apocalymon then uses one of the attacks making the Digimon de-digivolve and destroys the Digidestined’s Tags and Crests. He then uses their fear to break them down into data and sends them to the Digital Abyss. The Digidestined are at a loss initially, but the Digimon encourages them. They remember what they have done in the past as they regain hope and confidence in themselves once again. Their chests start to glow in the shape of their Crests and the Digimon digivolve to their highest forms. They are brought back to the Digital World and appears right before them is Apocalymon.

The Digidestined manage to destroy Apocalymon, but with his dying breath he threatens to take the both worlds with him. Apocalymon then uses Ultimate Anaylation. Determined not to give up, the Digidestined fight on, and their Crests seal the power of the explosion, saving the worlds from destruction. Gennai and Centarumon appear, telling them that the Digital World is being restored, and so is Primary Village. The Digidestined rush back to Primary Village and they are glad to see the Digimon being reborn. They then go to the lake where Seadramon attacked them when they first arrived in the Digital World. Although the Digidestined wish to stay longer with their Digimon, Gennai tells them that unless they return home now they will be erased during the reconstruction of the Digital World. The Digidestined and their Digimon recall the good times they had together and bid farewell to them. Mimi was upset that she couldn’t find Palmon anywhere, but she was able to bid farewell to Palmon as well in the end. Saying goodbye, the Digidestined board the bus and return home. (Till they meet again)
